Frequently Asked Questions Do I have to pay for everything in advance?

No.

Affordia Health operates primarily on a pay-as-you-go service model.

We believe trust should come before large financial commitments. Your initial consultation is free, and we first determine what you need and which services we can realistically provide.

You pay only for the Affordia Health services that we agree to provide.

Is the initial consultation free?

Yes.

Your initial consultation with Affordia Health is free and does not obligate you to purchase any service.

We first want to understand your situation, what you are looking for and whether we can realistically assist you.

The relationship starts with a conversation, not an invoice.

When do I pay Affordia Health?

Payment depends on the particular service and when it needs to be performed.

Before a paid service begins, we explain:

what we will provide, what the service costs, what is included, and what happens next.

You then decide whether you want to proceed.

Our objective is to keep each stage understandable and transparent.

How do I pay?

Affordia Health service fees are normally paid by bank transfer to the account specified on your invoice or payment instructions.

The service and applicable fee are agreed before payment is requested.

This provides a clear financial record for both the client and Affordia Health.

What happens if you cannot provide a requested service?

We tell you.

We do not want clients paying for services that we cannot realistically deliver.

If a requested service cannot be arranged or provided, we will explain the situation and, where possible, discuss alternatives.

If we cannot provide a service, we do not charge you for providing that service.

Do I have to purchase a complete medical travel package?

No.

You choose the services you need.

You may use Affordia Health only for hospital selection, medical coordination, interpretation, airport pickup or another individual service.

Alternatively, you can ask us to coordinate your Complete Medical Journey.

Start with one service. Add only what you need.

Who pays the hospital?

Wherever practicable, you pay the hospital or healthcare provider directly.

Affordia Health service fees and healthcare costs are separate.

This means you can clearly see what you are paying the healthcare provider for and what you are paying Affordia Health for.

Does my treatment money go through Affordia Health?

Normally, no.

Our business is providing coordination, assistance and related services.

Wherever practicable, medical treatment is paid directly to the hospital or healthcare provider.

You pay the hospital for healthcare. You pay Affordia Health for Affordia Health services.

Who pays for flights and accommodation?

You remain in control of your travel expenditure.

You can purchase your own airline tickets and, where appropriate, pay accommodation and other third-party providers directly.

If you need assistance finding or arranging accommodation, transportation or other services, Affordia Health can assist according to the services you select.

How transparent are your fees?

Transparency is one of the principles of our service model.

Before we perform a paid service, we aim to make clear what the service is and what Affordia Health will charge for it.

Medical costs and other third-party expenses are kept separate wherever practicable.

No unnecessary packages. No paying for services you do not need.

Are you a hospital or medical provider?

No.

Affordia Health is an independent service and coordination company.

We help international clients research, organise and navigate healthcare opportunities in China.

Medical diagnosis, medical advice, treatment and clinical decisions are provided by qualified healthcare professionals and healthcare institutions.

Do you decide which treatment I should receive?

No.

We can help you identify healthcare options, communicate with healthcare providers and coordinate the process.

The appropriate treatment must be determined between you and qualified healthcare professionals.

The final decision about your healthcare remains yours.

How do you select hospitals?

For hospital-based healthcare, our primary focus is on Grade 3A (Tier 3A ) hospitals.

However, classification alone is not enough.

Different hospitals — and different departments within those hospitals — can have different areas of expertise.

We therefore consider the individual case, relevant speciality, department, available expertise, accessibility, location, expected costs and other practical requirements.

Are you connected to particular hospitals?

Affordia Health currently operates as an independent service provider and is not built around directing every client into a predetermined hospital network.

We search for suitable options according to the individual case and within regions where we can provide reliable support.

If we establish a relevant commercial relationship with a particular healthcare provider for a service in the future, we believe that relationship should be disclosed transparently where appropriate.

Can I choose the hospital myself?

Yes.

You remain in control of your medical journey.

If you already know which hospital or specialist you want to access, we may be able to assist with communication, coordination and other practical services.

If you do not know where to go, we can help research suitable options.

Can you guarantee that a hospital will accept my case?

No.

Hospitals and healthcare professionals make their own decisions regarding patient acceptance, medical suitability, treatment availability and scheduling.

Affordia Health can facilitate communication and coordination but cannot make clinical or institutional decisions on their behalf.

Can you guarantee immediate treatment?

No healthcare coordinator should guarantee treatment availability before it has been confirmed by the relevant provider.

One of the reasons clients consider China may be the possibility of obtaining faster access to certain healthcare services, but actual availability depends on the hospital, specialist, procedure and individual case.

We verify available possibilities for the particular client rather than making a general promise.

Will someone help me when I arrive in China?

If local assistance is included in the services you select, yes.

Depending on the location and agreed services, this can include airport pickup, transportation assistance, interpretation, hospital navigation and other practical support.

Our objective is that clients travelling within the regions we support have a reliable local point of contact.

What happens if I have a problem while I am in China?

If you are an Affordia Health client and an unexpected practical issue affects your medical journey, you can contact us for assistance within the scope of the support we provide.

We will try to help resolve practical and logistical problems that fall within our capabilities.

Affordia Health does not replace hospitals, emergency medical services, travel insurance, police, consular services or other competent authorities.

Do you help with visas?

Yes, where appropriate.

We can assist with preparation and help coordinate relevant supporting information available for your journey.

However, you remain responsible for submitting your own visa application, and the final decision is made by the relevant authorities.

We cannot guarantee visa approval.

Do I need to speak Chinese?

Not necessarily.

Interpretation and communication assistance can be included in your Affordia Health services.

Our aim is to reduce unnecessary language barriers during your healthcare journey.

How can I communicate with Affordia Health?

International clients can communicate with us through WhatsApp and other available communication channels.

For communication and coordination within China, WeChat can also be used.

We aim to keep communication simple before, during and, where required, after your journey.

What if I only need one small service?

That is completely fine.

Our model is deliberately modular.

You do not need to purchase a large package simply because you need one service.

If all you need is hospital selection, interpretation, airport pickup or another available service, we can discuss that service individually.

Why does Affordia Health use a payas-you-go model?

Because international healthcare requires trust.

We prefer to build that trust progressively rather than asking every client to make a large commitment at the beginning.

As your journey develops, we agree on the services that are actually required and that we can realistically provide.

We want to earn your trust before asking you to expand your commitment.

What is the Affordia Health referral approach?

We want satisfied clients to become part of our long-term growth.

Affordia Health is developing a referral model through which existing clients may introduce friends, family members or other people who could benefit from our services.

The exact referral benefits and conditions will be published separately when the programme becomes available.

Our referral philosophy is simple:

Long-term relationships are more valuable than onetime transactions.

What if I am not satisfied with a service?

Tell us.

We want problems to be raised directly and as early as possible so that we have an opportunity to understand what happened and, where reasonably possible, find an appropriate solution.

Our objective is not simply to complete a transaction.

We want clients who would confidently use Affordia Health again and recommend us to others.
