Explore Your OptionsMedical Responsibility & Liability Clear Roles. Clear Responsibilities.
Affordia Health is designed to help clients access, organise and navigate healthcare and related services.
Our role is assistance and coordination.
Affordia Health is not a healthcare provider, hospital, medical clinic, insurer or travel agency.
We connect client needs with appropriate independent providers and help coordinate the practical elements of the journey.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, Affordia Health does not assume responsibility for services independently provided by third parties.
What Affordia Health Does Depending on the service selected, Affordia Health may assist with:
healthcare provider research, hospital or clinic identification, appointment coordination, communication, travel preparation, visa preparation assistance, airport pickup coordination, transportation, accommodation assistance, interpretation, local support, rehabilitation or recovery options, insurance and coverage partner access, and other agreed assistance services.
Our responsibility is limited to the Affordia Health services that we expressly agree to provide.
Affordia Health Is an Assistance and Coordination Service Affordia Health acts as a connecting point between clients and independent service providers.
We help connect:
Client Needs ↓ Healthcare Providers Insurance & Coverage Professionals Travel and Transportation Providers Accommodation Providers Interpreters Rehabilitation and Recovery Providers Other Relevant Services Affordia Health assists with making these connections work.
The provider remains responsible for the service the provider performs.
We Are Not a Healthcare Provider Affordia Health does not independently:
diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, determine treatment, perform medical procedures, perform surgery, provide hospital care, or make clinical decisions.
Medical assessment and healthcare are provided by appropriately qualified healthcare professionals and healthcare institutions.
Doctors Provide Healthcare. Affordia Provides Assistance.
Medical Decisions Remain Between You and Your Healthcare Provider Any decision concerning:
diagnosis, treatment, surgery, medication, medical examinations, rehabilitation, Traditional Chinese Medicine, or another clinical intervention must be discussed with the relevant qualified healthcare professional.
Affordia Health may help you access information and professionals.
We do not make the final medical decision for you.
The final healthcare decision remains yours.
No Guarantee of Medical Outcome Healthcare involves uncertainty.
Affordia Health cannot guarantee:
successful surgery, successful treatment, recovery, improvement, absence of complications, a particular diagnosis, a particular treatment recommendation, or any specific medical outcome.
Payment for Affordia Health services is payment for the agreed assistance or coordination service.
It is not payment for a guaranteed medical result.
An Unsuccessful Medical Outcome Does Not Mean an Affordia Service Failed Affordia Health may successfully provide the service agreed with the client even when the final medical outcome is different from what the client hoped for.
For example, Affordia may correctly:
identify a hospital, coordinate an appointment, arrange transportation, provide interpretation, and support the client's journey, while the healthcare provider later determines that a procedure is inappropriate or the treatment produces an unexpected result.
These are separate matters.
Affordia is responsible for its agreed assistance.
Healthcare providers are responsible for healthcare.
Healthcare Providers Are Independent Hospitals, doctors, clinics, therapists, veterinary providers and other healthcare professionals are independent providers unless expressly stated otherwise.
They remain responsible for their own:
professional qualifications, medical decisions, clinical judgement, diagnosis, treatment, procedures, medication, facilities, employees, informed-consent process, and healthcare outcomes.
Affordia Health does not assume their professional responsibility merely because we identified, contacted or coordinated access to them.
Affordia Does Not Control Hospitals or Doctors Affordia may communicate with a provider or help arrange an appointment.
This does not mean that we control:
whether the provider accepts a case, which doctor treats the client, what diagnosis is made, what treatment is recommended, whether additional tests are required, whether an operation proceeds, whether an appointment changes, or what medical outcome occurs.
Those decisions remain with the relevant provider and client.
We Are Not a Travel Agency Affordia Health may assist with practical travel-related arrangements connected with a healthcare journey.
This does not automatically make Affordia Health the provider of transportation, airline, hotel or other travel services.
Where the client purchases flights, accommodation, transportation or other travel services directly from independent providers, the contractual relationship for those services remains between the client and that provider.
Affordia may assist.
The independent provider remains responsible for providing its service.
Independent Third-Party Services A healthcare journey may involve multiple independent providers.
These can include:
airlines, hotels, drivers, transport companies, interpreters, insurance professionals, insurance companies, healthcare providers, rehabilitation centres, medical spas, and other service providers.
Each provider remains responsible for the services within its own control.
Affordia Health does not guarantee the independent performance of third parties simply because we helped connect or coordinate them.
Insurance Responsibility Affordia Health is not an insurance company.
Affordia does not determine whether your insurance policy covers a particular treatment.
Where Insurance & Coverage Partners are involved, they remain responsible for the professional services they independently provide.
The insurance company remains responsible for its final coverage, reimbursement and pre-authorisation decisions.
Coverage Must Be Confirmed by the Insurer.
Visa and Government Decisions Affordia Health may assist clients with preparing for visa applications or understanding practical requirements.
We do not issue visas and cannot guarantee:
visa approval, entry into a country, border decisions, immigration decisions, or decisions made by public authorities.
These decisions remain exclusively with the competent authorities.
You Remain in Control Affordia Health is built around client control.
You decide:
whether to travel, whether to proceed with treatment, which healthcare provider to use, which Affordia services to purchase, which travel arrangements to book, whether to provide medical documentation, whether to seek a second opinion, and whether to accept a proposed procedure.
Wherever practicable, you also pay healthcare providers and other third parties directly.
Your Journey. Your Decision. Your Control.
Client Responsibility Clients are responsible for making their own final decisions based on the information available to them.
Clients are also responsible for:
providing accurate information where required, asking healthcare professionals questions they consider important, understanding medical recommendations before consenting, obtaining appropriate travel documents, considering insurance, following medical instructions, and deciding whether they are comfortable proceeding with a particular healthcare journey.
Affordia assists with the process.
It does not replace the client's own judgment.
Client Choice of Provider The client is free to accept or reject healthcare and service options presented by Affordia Health.
The client may:
request alternatives, choose a different provider, obtain another medical opinion, organise parts of the journey independently, or decide not to proceed.
Affordia does not require a client to undergo treatment simply because an option has been identified.
Risks of International Healthcare International healthcare can involve circumstances that cannot always be predicted.
These may include:
changes in medical condition, additional examinations, changes in treatment recommendations, medical complications, appointment changes, delays, travel disruption, visa problems, additional expenses, longer recovery, or the need for further treatment.
By deciding to proceed, clients acknowledge that these uncertainties can exist.
Affordia cannot eliminate every risk associated with healthcare or international travel.
Limits of Affordia Responsibility To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Affordia Health does not accept responsibility for loss, injury, delay, cost or other consequences resulting solely from:
independent medical decisions, medical treatment or complications, acts or omissions of independent healthcare providers, insurance decisions, visa or government decisions, airline operations, hotel services, independent transportation providers, other independent third-party services, or circumstances outside Affordia Health's reasonable control.
This limitation does not exclude responsibility that applicable law does not permit Affordia Health to exclude.
Unless Explicitly Agreed Otherwise A different responsibility arrangement applies only where Affordia Health expressly agrees to it.
If a specific Affordia service includes responsibilities beyond ordinary coordination or assistance, those responsibilities should be described in the applicable service agreement.
Nothing should be assumed merely because Affordia helped organise a service.
Responsibility Follows the Agreed Service.
Transparency Before Commitment Before purchasing a paid Affordia Health service, the client should be able to understand:
what Affordia will provide, what Affordia will not provide, what third parties will provide, the applicable Affordia fee, and which important decisions remain with the client or another provider.
Our objective is to prevent confusion before the journey begins.
One Journey. Different Responsibilities.
A healthcare journey may involve many organisations.
The boundaries should remain simple:
Affordia Health Assistance · Coordination · Connection · Local Support Healthcare Provider Diagnosis · Treatment · Clinical Decisions · Medical Responsibility Insurance Provider Coverage · Reimbursement · Insurance Decisions Independent Service Provider Responsibility for Its Own Service Client Final Choice · Consent · Personal Decisions Our Principle Affordia Health exists to make healthcare access easier.
We do not take control of your healthcare.
We do not replace your doctor.
We do not replace your insurer.
We do not replace independent service providers.
And we do not take away your ability to make your own decisions.
We Assist. We Coordinate.
We Connect.
Healthcare professionals provide healthcare.
Independent providers provide their services. You remain in control of your journey.
